I was there in Tulip House, the souvenir shop on Damrak street, last week, I have heard the owner of the shop discriminated Asian lady who asked for the job. I feel very bad for her as I am also Asian. The owner denied to hire her by trying to tell her all work schedules that she tried to apply were not available for many reasons. She finally asked her that on what schedule she can have a job. Then the owner said to her that her English pronunciation/accent is not good after can not find more reasons to deny her for a job. I think she speaks better than the owner of the shop, old Dutch lady. I feel bad for her and I also feel disappoint to see this on my first trip to visit Amsterdam.
