The Dutch Law Institute is publishing an online English guide on Dutch contract law, Dutch employment law, Dutch business law and litigation in the Netherlands. This legal guide is edited by a number of selected experts on Dutch law. With this publication the Institute intends to increase the accessibility of Dutch law. Apart from these legal services and outreach activities, our legal affairs bureau and research institute pursues a number of other activities in order to promote the accessibility of these fields of Dutch law, like providing commentary in (inter)national media, giving policy advice, and organizing lectures, seminars and other events.

The Dutch Law Institute is a Dutch NGO. It has been established (in the form of a Dutch foundation, in Dutch: stichting) in May 2021. The founders are three lawyers in the Netherlands, operating in close consultation with a number of third parties.
The Institute aims to be an independent and preeminent centre of expertise in the fast-expanding areas of:
- Dutch contract law
- employment law in the Netherlands
- Dutch business law and
- legal proceedings in the Netherlands.
The Dutch Law Institute is publishing an online English guide on contract law in the Netherlands, Dutch employment law, business law in the Netherlands and Dutch litigation. Jan Willem de Groot is a lawyer in the Netherlands. Jan Willem practiced as an attorney-at-law for over 33 years. He advised both local and foreign clients. Jan Willem is one of the initiators and one of the three founders of the Dutch Law Institute. As chairman of the Institute's board, Jan Willem is responsible for (a) the overall direction in which the Institute will move and (b) managing its day-to-day activities.
Jan Willem de Groot and the two other board members of the Dutch Law Institute do not receive any remuneration for their board-membership nor for their other activities for the Institute.
