Op het historische Landgoed Zonnestraal zijn in 2013 door Alfred Visser de eerste stokken geplaatst. In 2020 is de wijngaard overgenomen door 5 ondernemers die de wijngaard verder zijn gaan ontwikkelen. Faciliteiten en materiaal zijn verbeterd, een buitenplaats is gerealiseerd en de wijngaard is verder aangepland. Op de 0, 7 hectare staan inmiddels meer dan 2200 planten van verschillende hybride druiven die het goed doen in het Nederlandse klimaat
